Samin Haghighi
Fee: $65-$95
Samin (Sam) is an immigrant of 15 years with a deep understanding of the emotional, cultural, and psychological challenges that come with life transitions and major changes. She brings a unique perspective to her work, shaped by her lived experience across multiple countries and cities, as well as a strong academic and professional background. She holds a Bachelor of Engineering from Shiraz University, a Bachelor of Psychology from the University of Victoria, and is currently completing her Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology at Yorkville University while undergoing her clinical practicum. Over the years, she has pursued additional training in Clinical Hypnosis, in which she is a certified practitioner, as well as several life and wellness coaching programs.
Samin works with adults navigating trauma, anxiety, depression, ADHD, personality and mood disorders, life transitions, identity formation, personal development, and acculturation challenges. She blends a variety of therapeutic modalities—including CBT, Internal Family Systems (IFS), Solution-Focused Therapy (SFT), Bowen’s Family Systems, Gottman Method, Mindfulness-Based CBT, and existential approaches—to tailor her work to the individual needs of each client. Her goal is to create a warm, collaborative, and empowering space where clients can develop resilience, emotional regulation, and a stronger sense of self.
In addition to her clinical work, Samin is the founder of Where Is Home Media, a widely recognized online platform providing mental health support and resources for Persian immigrants navigating life after immigration. She is also the creator and host of Samtalk, a highly acclaimed Farsi-language podcast ranked among the top 10 best Farsi podcasts by Millions Podcast. Through Samtalk, she provides psychoeducation on topics such as identity formation, mental health, relationships, belonging, and personal growth.
Samin’s approach is informed by both her professional training and her lived experience as an immigrant, allowing her to meet clients where they are and support them in overcoming challenges, reclaiming their sense of self, and building fulfilling lives.
