Online Therapy in Toronto

Intentional therapist matching, no waitlist, and real change — without leaving your home. Most Toronto clients can start within days.

Finding the right therapist in Toronto is harder than it should be. Long waitlists, generic intake forms, and the sense that you’ve been assigned to whoever had an opening — it’s frustrating, especially when you’ve already decided you want help. True Self Counselling was built to solve exactly that. We’re an Ontario-wide virtual therapy practice with a team of approximately 35 therapists and no waitlist. Most Toronto clients can start within days of reaching out.

We work with people across Toronto — from the Annex and Leslieville to Scarborough, North York, Etobicoke, and East York. Because all sessions are online, your commute is zero. Whether you’re squeezing therapy into a lunch break near Bay Street or logging on from a quiet room in your home in Roncesvalles, the experience is the same: a real therapist who actually fits you, doing real work.

We don’t assign you to whoever is available. We match you based on what you’re working through, your communication style, and your background — so your first session feels like you’re finally being understood, not starting from scratch. Many of our therapists are second-career professionals who came to therapy after years in other fields, which means they understand what it’s like to be a real person navigating a complicated life.

Who We Work With in Toronto

Toronto runs fast. A lot of our clients here are high-functioning people who, from the outside, look like they have everything together — steady career, active social life, ambitious goals — but underneath they’re exhausted, anxious, or quietly stuck. Many have tried therapy before and came away feeling like they were just venting for an hour each week without anything actually shifting.

We specialize in working with:

  • High achievers and professionals dealing with burnout or career stress
  • People with high-functioning anxiety or anxious attachment patterns
  • Adults navigating ADHD, autism, or AuDHD — often diagnosed late
  • Empaths and highly sensitive people who absorb everyone else’s emotions
  • People working through complex trauma, childhood wounds, or emotionally immature parents
  • Couples looking to improve communication or navigate a difficult season
  • Anyone stuck in people-pleasing, poor boundaries, or emotional overwhelm
